After 54 hours of intense brainstorming, a team of RMIT University students and CSIRO scientists has emerged as the winner of the 2015 Unearthed Melbourne Hackathon. The event saw teams from around Australia using IT skills, creative thinking and engineering prototyping to solve a real-world challenge in the mining and resources industry in a non-stop 54 hour competition.
hirteen international Mining Ministers will be among 2,500 delegates from more than 30 countries attending the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Melbourne today. Minister for Energy and Resources Lily D’Ambrosio opened the three-day event at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, welcoming Ministers from Iran, Chile, Ecuador, Afghanistan, Cambodia, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mexico, PNG, Solomon Islands, Ukraine and Uruguay. As the downturn in mining exploration and construction continues, Victoria is set to benefit from the biggest mining production boom in Australia’s history.
