Projects To Make Our Multicultural State Even Stronger
The Andrews Labor Government is investing $100,000 in social cohesion initiatives to bring families and communities together in Greater Dandenong.
The initiatives will be delivered by the City of Greater Dandenong, working alongside local organisations. The funding will support:
Multi-faith and multicultural education programs in local primary and secondary schools
A training program for local asylum seekers and refugees to volunteer as tour guides
A cooking program where women of all backgrounds can come together to share their experiences
A forum for local businesses to meet over lunch and hear speakers from different cultural groups.
This funding is part of a $500,000 package of social cohesion initiatives designed to bring communities together across Victoria.
It’s about building new connections between Victorians of different backgrounds, increasing respect and resilience.
